With my teaching hat on, parents often worry the book their child is reading is too easy - is this something we worry about as an adult? No it is enjoyable to read easy books. Ok will this do new thread? You can get illustrated versions - not as many pictures as "picture books" but still enough to engage.
There's also a series called "Magic Puppy" "Magic Kitten" etc although I don't think they have quite as many pictures. Fingers crossed it won't come to that tho!
I went shopping for DD's birthday party on Sunday today and realised how much of a constraint it is that she doesn't like chocolate! She also keeps insisting that she "doesn't like Christmas". She's so funny. No idea why she's so against it! I like your festive name BTW Clara! Funny you should mention that Clara , I changed this afternoon.
I'm taking DD to the dentist in the morning so hopefully will know a bit more then. I guess if she loses them both she'll just adapt to it - when the DSs lost their front teeth one took to biting with his side teeth and the other didn't seem bothered at all. Not sure how someone so young would cope though - especially one who loves apples so much!
I would imagine sucking her thumb would feel very weird too! Hopefully it won't come to that though fingers crossed. I don't know much about books aimed at 5yo girls, there was not much about for the boys at that age either.
