The Renault Triber is a 7-seater subcompact MPV multi-purpose vehicle that's known for its versatility and affordability. It's a practical option for large families or anyone looking for a spacious vehicle on a budget, though its performance is just about adequate.
Renault has offered year-end discounts of up to Rs 60, on the Triber this December. Prices for the Renault Triber start from Rs 6 lakh for the base-spec petrol manual and go up to Rs 8. Prices are ex-showroom Delhi. It offers all the important features like an 8-inch touchscreen, steering-mounted audio controls, and electrically adjustable ORVMs outside rear view mirrors.
Passenger safety is taken care of by dual front airbags, electronic stability control ESC , a tyre pressure monitoring system, and a rear parking camera as well. All of this comes at a price of Rs 7. On the outside, the Renault Triber gets projector halogen headlights and halogen tail lights. Although it can accommodate three people in the second-row, their shoulders may rub against each other. The second-row seats offer ample headroom and good knee room, and the seats also slide for added flexibility.
However, the third-row seats are best suited for children or short adults only. Regarding boot space, if all three rows are occupied, there is only enough room for one or two small bags. The Triber uses a 1-litre naturally aspirated 3-cylinder petrol engine which makes 72 PS and 96 Nm, and comes mated to either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed AMT. However, we have tested both manual and AMT variants of the MPV in both city and highway conditions, and here are the results:.
If you're on a tight budget and need a 7-seater, the Renault Triber is definitely worth considering. It is also worth considering if you have the need for a lot more boot space than other 5-seater hatchbacks provide.
