There seem to be plenty of pros, semi-pros around the massage parlours and bars and still some SWs but is there an upmarket industry? I can't believe that with all the Pacific politicians who fly in and out of Fiji, the business men of the flim-flam and white shoe brigade and the obviously older and moneyed men in the resorts that they are not being "looked after".
But I have never seen any evidence of an upmarket, or escort, industry. If it exists it certainly doesn't advertise. So what is your experience? Is there such a thing in Fiji? I am certain there is an upmarket scene, for the very reasons you describe. But because of my constraints, I do not move in those circles. Chinese businessmen have BYO girls from China. The local upmarket businessmen and politicians don't really need to have upmarket working girls, instead they have mistresses.
I think the term for it is "power-fucking". Money and power attract sexy ladies. But remember that many politicians are just as sleazy as the rest of us. They have an aide or official go out to get them girls from right off the street, by asking a night club bouncer, or a taxi driver, same as the rest of us do. Anytime regional leaders meet in Fiji especially those from the Melanesian countries all working girls do a roaring trade. Some will strike a deal with the waitresses right there in the restaurant.
So where do you find the upmarket ones? My guess is by drinking in upmarket bars. There will be single ladies about, waiting to strike up a conversation with Mr Nice.
