Im März hat sich der Verein PolkaBeats gegründet. Er initiiert und befördert Aktivitäten rund um die Polka, organisiert Veranstaltungen, Workshops und Tagungen. Er hilft bei der Suche nach Sponsoren und akquiriert Fördermittel für die Umsetzung verschiedener Teilprojekte. Nicht zuletzt ist er ein Anlaufpunkt für alle Freunde der Polka und ist in diesem Sinne für Anregungen und Ideen offen.
Zwecke des Vereins sind die Förderung von Kunst und Kultur, von Bildung und Erziehung zur Vermittlung einer weltoffenen internationalen Gesinnung, der Toleranz auf allen Gebieten des gesellschaftlichen Zusammenlebens sowie des Völkerverständigungsgedankens durch die ideelle und finanzielle Unterstützung von Projekten und Maßnahmen, die sich der Pflege und Weiter entwicklung des kulturellen Erbes und der Tradition rund um die Kulturmarke Polka widmen.
PolkaBeats e. It initiates and promotes polka-related activities and organises events, workshops and conventions.
