You will appreciate the sensitivity required to treat a pregnant client and you will possess excellent consultation skills. This course is perfect for anyone who is already a qualified and experienced massage therapist and wants to advance their skills into and learn a new and highly in demand technique.
You will learn the fundamental skills to become competent at practising this very comprehensive, full body pregnancy massage. You will also have the opportunity to return in future and learn a full treatment menu which is suitable for a pregnant or post natal client.
Pregnant clients are going through both a delicate and powerful transition and tailor made treatments are in high demand. Many salons and spas do not offer pregnancy specific treatments so this is a great opportunity to expand your treatment offering but also to increase your knowledge base around how the body is affected, how to adapt to a pregnant client, which products to use and most importantly, how to offer a treatment both safely and with sensitivity.
This treatment includes gentle massage techniques, pressure points, aromatherapy, lymph drainage, a foot ritual and is a full body experience. You will learn how to adapt each area of the treatment for your client, you will feel confident in how to position the client and which products to use. You will learn how you may need to vary the treatment during each trimester, including the fourth which is post delivery.
To enrol on this course, you must be a qualified and experienced body massage therapist. Ideally, you will have a keen interest in anatomy and physiology.
