The shooting of an year-old pregnant woman in Fort Smith has put the spotlight on domestic violence. The woman is 32 weeks pregnant and was shot multiple times Tuesday morning , according to police. She was still in the hospital as of Wednesday night, where doctors were monitoring her and her baby.
Police have accused her ex-boyfriend, Erick Luna-Chavez, of shooting her. He's being held in jail without bond. According to a report released earlier this month by the CDC, one out of every 20 American women experience some form of violence by an intimate partner during pregnancy.
