Sexually transmitted infections-HIV Cordillera DoH regional coordinator Darwin Babon said the new hubs will boost the treatment services as they are located in areas accessible to patients from far flung places. Babon disclosed that the Benguet General Hospital in La Trinidad, Benguet is already in the process of accreditation as another treatment hub.
It is expected to be accredited this year. Health authorities want every treatment hub to be equipped with rapid HIV diagnostic algorithm confirmatory laboratory. This is to speed up the release of tests results so that any person found positive can be immediately given appropriate treatment.
Based on data of the DoH Cordillera, there have been a total of 1, cases of HIV from up to the present, with 99 from the total number of cases listed from January to August this year.
