For the last four years, I've absolutely sworn by my AirPod Pros. I'm still using the first generation, and outside of them occasionally falling out on the odd run, I've never had the inkling to swap them out for something different.
I just knew I had to give them a go for myself. One Amazon order later and the sports earbuds from Rolosar were in my hands. After seamlessly pairing them to my phone via Bluetooth, I spent the next few days putting the buds through their paces with my usual activities of casual listening and running. Taking a tour of the earphones , the plastic housing of the buds themselves feels especially sturdy and of a quality you'd expect from something much more expensive. That quality extends to the rubberised ear hooks that loop behind your ears to keep the buds secure while working out.
I took these buds on a couple of runs during my testing, one of which was a tempo workout during which I sometimes have to adjust my AirPod Pros to make sure they stay in. It's safe to say that this cheaper Rolosar pair stayed cemented in place, with the ear hooks doing a phenomenal job of keeping everything where it should be.
The earphones are incredibly comfortable, too, with me hardly noticing that they were in my ears during workouts or while pottering around the house doing chores. I was worried that the ear hooks might interfere with the glasses and hat that I normally wear on runs, but they didn't cause any disturbance there at all. When I was done using the earbuds, they slotted neatly back into place within the charging case. If there's anything that gives away the lower budget of the ear phones it's the case, with a light and plasticky feel to the case material and a hinge that feels as though it could snap if put under too much pressure.
It's also a lot larger than other wireless earphones I've tested, making them less comfortable to slip in and out of your short pockets when nipping to the gym. Still, there's a handy LED screen that show the exact battery life of the buds and case, which is indeed an improvement over AirPods where you're left guessing unless you check your iPhone manually. Of course, one of the main aspects to consider when buying a pair of earphones is the sound quality.
