This castle is, apparantly, the location of the Holy Grail and the Ark of the Covenant , according to the ancient manuscript found in the Vatican Library.
Meanwhile, Sam must find an entrance into the castle itself. Progress through the castle until a cutscene plays, which shows a princess in a window who needs to be rescued and requests the player's help for assistance. The player needs to make their way up to the tower where she is residing. Rescuing the princess rewards the player with a master key that can be used to unlock any doors leading to supply depots. After the arena where the player gets the XL2 Lasergun , they will see a side objective marker on their right, which will lead to an enemy portal.
Just like with the side objective "Portal Kombat" in the level The Die Is Cast , this mission involves deactivating five transdimensional anchors to overload a portal and destroy it.
Completing the side objective awards the player with three Black Hole gadgets. It is recommended that the player does not rush when deactivating the anchors, as a large horde of enemies will spawn after deactivating each one, with each wave spawning tougher enemies.
