They investigate and find Ruby leaning over a dead body, holding what looks like the murder weapon. Ruby insists she is innocent before she retreats into hiding.
And to solve this mystery Kiki will need help from everyoneβeven requiring Dex to go undercover. This was such a fun mystery with the perfect setting for armchair travel. I wish I could visit Aloha Lagoon without the murder. The writing is a successful combination of mystery and humor, especially between the characters. I enjoyed trying to solve the mystery along with Kiki. In addition to a long list of possible suspects, there are also many twists and turns throughout that had me questioning every one she encountered.
I read this quickly and was sorry to say goodbye to the characters and setting. Thankfully there are many books available in the series and more publishing in the future.
