Rome Fiumicino Airport is Rome's main airport found to the west of Rome close to the coast. Ciampino Airport is to the south east of Rome. Fiumicino and Ciampino Airports are 31km 19 miles apart, on a good day with no traffic congestion a journey of 30 minutes by car.
Unfortunately for those wanting to transfer between both airports there is no direct public transport between the two airports. If you want a direct transfer you will need to take a taxi or advance purchase private car transfer.

Termini Station is the city terminus for nearly all rail, metro and bus options related to airport transfers, so if you want to look at all the transfer options just use the links from both airports in our menu. There is intense competition between various bus lines all operating scheduled direct airport coaches. Terravision are by far the most popular in terms of passenger numbers mainly because they are the cheapest and have a good advance purchase ticketing website.
There is a train service between Fiumicino Airport and Rome Termini Station called the Leonardo Express which is frequent and fast but much more expensive than the airport buses. If you order on-line, you select an individual departure time which reserves you a seat on the bus.
