It will seem strange to not have the daily trip there. Not necessarily for the worse - for a start I m hoping to sneak back to bed on occasions after they have left at 7. Whilst on the subject of my babies I really must share with you a proud Mum moment. Wow, how impressive is that for a 12 year old who has never had a formal English education! I d like to say a big thank you to Mel who guided him through the coursework to achieve this.

Can you believe it s September already - the holiday period has passed, the kids are back to school and normality resumes. I can t complain though as we had a lovely few days in Spain last month, visiting some friends. The journey down got me thinking about how good my French must be even though I don t realise it.
When stopping for dinner in in a Spanish restaurant en route I realised just how out of my depth I was. They spoke no English and we spoke no Spanish beyond the pleasantries. Still, we had an interesting conversation charades style!
I might not be fluent in French as I d like to be but I suddenly realised that there s no situation I can t hold a conversation in, so at least it made me feel better about that! So sorry to the children and grown-ups who wanted an ice-cream. Unfortunately the van didn t show up but not having been notified we couldn t make other arrangements. We had a few things handed in at the end of the day, two of which are still unclaimed, a purse and a pair of sunglasses.
