For a destination less than two hours from the District, I felt like I was thousands of miles away from home⦠and I loved every minute of it. By far this has been one of the most luxurious getaways I have ever been on.
The resort is hugeβ the amenities and features there cannot be explored in just one day I would know because, sadly, we could only stay one night!
The resort boasts rooms and suites, five dining options, multi-level indoor and outdoor swimming pools, event space, a fitness facility, an hole River Marsh Golf Course, and my personal favoriteβa newly renovated and re-branded 18, square-foot spa. My boyfriend and I splurged on room service upon arrival. No better way to kick off our vacation than with a glass of wine, two coronas for him and a slice of cheesecake.
I experienced by first spa treatment the following morningβthe Spring Rejuvenation Ritual, a full body scrub, wrap, scalp and foot massage. Spa aesthetician and relaxation connoisseur, Caterina, was so pleasant and made my spa treatment so enjoyable.
The treatment itself was really cool and unlike any body scrub I had experienced before. I was lying in what seemed like an elevated bathtub that had a few inches of depth to it, as the aesthetician applied an exfoliating scrub. The finishing touch was a much-needed foot and scalp massage that nearly put me to sleep.
