Find out what we're doing to keep kids first. Our visitor protocol protects the health, safety, rights and privacy of our patients. The goal is to allow caregivers and visitors the opportunity to assist in the healing process helpfully and cooperatively. It also ensures the healthcare team has the time and space required to provide quality patient care. Only visitors ages 12 and older will be permitted on inpatient units with exceptions for breastfeeding children and end-of-life situations.
We screen every patient and caregiver who comes to our hospital and clinics for fever and cold or flu-like symptoms. Our visitor protocol changes during times of high community transmission of viral illness. If you are planning to visit a patient at Phoenix Children's but you are not feeling well, please wait until you feel better in order to protect our patients.

During cold and flu season, our staff will be required to wear masks when providing direct patient care. Staff members may ask patients and visitors to stop recording if it impacts their work, their privacy, or the privacy of others.
