A 6-week course to help you discern marriage. As Catholics, we generally do a good job helping men and women discern a religious vocation, but the vast majority of Catholics will be called to marriage, which is also a vocation!
As such, that specific calling from God needs to be discerned just as much as a religious vocation. Dating with Purpose is a 6-week program that helps dating couples discern if God is calling them to the vocation of marriage.
Over the course of the program, a couple will learn about the theology and spirituality of marriage as well as practical skills to help improve their current relationship.
Each dating couple will be mentored by a married couple and will also share in community with other dating couples. The end goal is not necessarily engagement right away or even engagement at all; rather, each couple should leave the course with a deeper knowledge of their strengths and weaknesses and the freedom to make an informed decision about their future together. Dating with Purpose is for seriously dating couples who want to discern marriage more intentionally with each other.
It is strongly encouraged that a couple has been dating for at least 6 months before attending. We will NOT be offering a digital option, and everyone must attend in person. If you or your partner does not live in College Station, we recommend 2 asynchronous self-study options: Next Step or Dating Well. These courses are for single people or couples to learn more about the goals of dating and how to journey with another person in the discernment of marriage.
