Seven alleged johns, including three from surrounding states, and eight alleged prostitutes were nabbed by authorities Wednesday from several law enforcement agencies conducting a sting in Chambersburg. To conduct the sting, undercover police officers, posing as either johns or prostitutes, were posted along South Clinton Avenue, between Elmer Street and Roebling Avenue. South Clinton Avenue in particular has been notorious for prostitution. Two of the homes that were raided last summer became murder scenes.
Neemias Reyes-Gonzales, 37, was shot multiple times inside a home on the block of South Clinton Avenue last September. He had previously been arrested and charged with promoting prostitution in the July raids.
A woman who worked at a nearby restaurant said several prostitutes poured out of the home when the shooting started. On Jan. Currently, no arrests have been made in either case. Residents described men entering the home to engage in prostitution with women kept in the rear of the home while a male lookout watched for police. By David Foster.
