Just how visible is it? There do not seem to be ladies of the night working the streets in Brum any more My next-door neighbour said that there were a couple of girls working the end of my road a year ago but I never noticed The only street or rather canal prostitution I see is the rent boy trade who hang about the Warwick Bar Junction on the Grand Union.
Most of Birmingham's lady whores are now in licensed massage joints or are using private flats as brothels. I think this is a lot better for the girls as they have some degree of protection but would it not be a lot better if they had the protection of the state rather than the pimp? How is the state of the oldest trade in your part of paradise and how do you feel it could be made better? Nobody dare stop along there at one point because of the naming and shaming campaign! Try Central Drive in Blackpool, our local 'lady' term used loosely of the night parades between the Post Office cash machine and Royal Bank of Scotland cash machine and approaches any man who goes to withdraw cash.
She is not too fussy about her clientelle either as she has been seen in the back yards of empty houses with known junkies. The prostitutes round here, have moved from Riby Square to the fish docks just down the road, to the docks. My mate used to think it was funny to pick them up then drive off to the countryside and leave them there until her got mugged and beaten up, by a fat one. Warped indeed.
