Oral and maxillofacial surgery requires an additional years of hospital-based surgical and anesthesia training after graduation from dental school.

Dailey was born and raised in Southern California. He completed his undergraduate studies at U. Santa Barbara. As an undergraduate student he was exposed to orthognathic surgery which led him to pursue a career in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
Dailey then attended U. Los Angeles School of Dentistry where he received his D. S Air Force. After his honorable discharge, he moved his family to Pittsburgh, PA to complete a 6-year oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
