The Modesto Fit is Freenote's newest denim cut in their now 7 style lineup. They call it their "workwear fit", and we're inclined to agree, as these feature a high rise and a full top block with wide, straight legs. They'll fit over boots without issue, and have enough room to really move around in, being pretty unrestrictive in general. They have the classic five pocket configuration, with acorn shaped back pockets and a copper button fly. Inside, the pockets are cut from a vintage Japanese herringbone stripe fabric.
Initially quite dark and stiff, it will soften and change color substantially over time, especially after washing, as the indigo fades.
With a weight of 16oz, they're right on the cusp of what we consider to be heavyweight, definitely sturdy, but still very wearable, particularly after being broken in.
