Tim grew up in Groveland and attended local schools, graduating from Pentucket Regional High School in , where many fellow students became lifelong friends. In Tim was appointed Director of Student Affairs at Essex Agricultural and Technical School in Danvers, where he advised and assisted returning veterans and adult students in their career pursuits. During that time Tim lived at the Alfalfa Farm in Danvers and made lifelong friendships with other faculty and students.
During summer breaks, Tim at various times worked on lobster boats on Matinicus Island Maine and on cattle ranches in Montana. Tim prided himself on being a true New England Yankee.
He believed in hard work, resourcefulness and self-reliance. He loved Groveland, his Ward Hill sugaring-off buddies, auctions, flea markets, old tractors, Franklin stoves and Hoosier cabinets. He was a constant student of history and loved museums.
Above all, he was a devoted friend who made every effort to keep his wide circle of friends close, still joining college roommates for a reunion barbecue every summer. Tim was loved by his family and was deeply loved by his companion of many years, Sandra Clark of Amesbury and her children and their children.
