Interesting custom 6 Ok I'm breaking my own rule twice in three days. Interesting custom van on eBay. Looks to be a pickup with a van body grafted on to it. Suppose to be built by George Barris. I seem to remember another similar to this a few years back.
Other than the grill and crushed velvet looks good. Interesting item on EBay 6 I don't usually post eBay stuff so I don't ruin it for someone that came across something interesting or rare, but I'm breaking my own rule.
Here is a rare Hilborn fuel injection head for the small six. I don't know anything about these, and have never seen one before. Looks as cool as hell. Not my item. Don't know the seller. Not sure how it connects to the front axle, but if it just connects to the shock bolt hole only, it may not be secure enough? All told, I'm pretty satisfied with that, considering wind and altitude issues. The van runs just right, I'd say, here in CO'--with no run-on; the carb is jetted for altitude. At '--a mile lower and certainly 'way more humid--the engine had a tendency to run on and then do the gasp-its-last thing before dying.
Hot, humid days, to be sure, but is this a normal reaction to these changes? I can't recall this being an issue before, but maybe it's selective memory. The van got lots of positive comments and the usual questions about selling it. How does that go? Joe, CO. Ventura Nationals Labor day weekend Ventura Nationals Car show will be held at the ventura fair ground. See the Link below.
I will be there Again this year. Terry K in SoCal. Newspaper article [1 Attachment] That's the one! Thanks Jay. I knew I could count on you. Anyone ever seen this van at the Speedway museum? Dan in Mass. Newspaper article 2 I need some help. I'm looking for a newspaper article from the mid-late 60's. The article is about the Econoline that was presented to Larry Bisceglia by a Ford dealer in recognition of his record of being first in line at the Indy for many years.
