An integral part of the community all her life, Robin Curley is the girl known for always smiling always staying positive and lifting the spirits of others who may be down.
Now as the local philanthropist has a one-on-one battle with colon cancer, her community is not letting her down, coming to her side to help however they possibly can: rides to and from the doctors, helping her at her self-owned business even bringing over prepared meals for dinner.
Now the community has come together to not only host one benefit for Robin but two as well as additional events to help raise funds for her many rising hospital bills for testing, surgeries and treatments. Robin grew up in Southwest Florida, after moving down in from the suburbs of Philadelphia. Ten years later she returned just before her 32nd birthday. If someone needed help, she was there lending her support.
Now, as the tables are turned and Robin is the one in need, two very large benefits will be held in her honor, raising funds to help with the many bills for her diagnosis, tests, surgeries and treatment.
She found out recently that her treatment will be more intensive than we previously thought. Although she is insured, this has been a financial nightmare for her with the co-pays, lack of ability to work herself, etc. We really want her to solely focus on fighting her disease and hope to alleviate much of the financial stress with these benefits. We are so thankful for all she has done to help this cause. Southwest Florida always rocks when it comes to such things. This is my third event to be involved in and I have been blown away every single time.
