The search continued Monday to find the person who shot two men inside a Cobb County entertainment center near Cumberland Mall, police said. The shooting happened at about 9 p. Sunday at Main Event, located at Cobb Parkway.
The business, which includes a restaurant, bowling and other games, was filled with patrons, including children and young adults, according to witnesses. Officers arrived to find two men with gunshot wounds, Sgt. Eric Smith with Cobb police said. Both were taken to the hospital, but their conditions were not released. The shooter left before officers arrived, according to Cobb police. Breyana Janae, who lives nearby, said she was there with her two children, ages 8 and After being out of school the previous week for winter break, Janae wanted her kids to have a fun night, and her daughter had a friend with her.
But when shots were fired, Janae ran to find her children in a game room, walking past a man who had been shot. Janae said she believes it started as a fight between the alleged shooter and others. It sounded like someone got slapped. The man who was slapped walked away and toward the door, Janae said.
But then he turned around and pulled out a gun from under his shirt, she said. Chris Holliday, 51, had just finished watching a movie at the AMC Parkway Pointe 15, located above Main Event, and was coming down the escalator when he heard at least five gunshots.
Holliday said the victims looked to be two men around the age of Main Event reopened Monday. Employees declined to comment and referred questions to corporate representatives, who could not be reached. Alexis Stevens is a member of the Crime and Public Safety team.
