Palm Beach police arrested two women on prostitution charges early Thursday morning during an undercover operation, marking the first prostitution-related arrests on the island in nearly five years. Police charged a Pembroke Pines woman, 42, with offering to commit prostitution, a misdemeanor, and possession of cocaine with intent to sell, which is a felony, court records show.
Officers also arrested a year-old West Palm Beach woman with offering to commit prostitution. On Jan. The Pembroke Pines woman, who was with another woman, told the officer that she liked to party, and the officer asked if she had any "party favors," referring to drugs, the reports said. The Pembroke Pines woman replied that she did, then said that she and her friend could be part of a package deal that included those party favors, according to the arrest reports.
The Pembroke Pines woman gave her phone number to the officer, and told him to call and set up a time for them to meet another night at a hotel room, the reports said. After the women left the restaurant, Palm Beach police ran a search on the phone number provided by the woman and confirmed that it belonged to the Pembroke Pines woman, the reports said. The woman said she would bring a friend and "party favors," the arrest reports said.
Representatives for Meat Market and the White Elephant did not return requests for comment by deadline Friday. Wednesday, the reports said. The officer sat with the two women and talked about their plans for the night. Before the trio could partake of what the Pembroke Pines woman called "Colombian caviar," she reportedly told the officer that it needed to be crushed into a powder.
She pulled a heart-shaped compact from her purse, handed it to the officer and asked him to take it to the bathroom to crush the contents, the arrest reports said. In the men's room, the officer opened the compact and found inside a white powder — which he believed to be cocaine, the reports said.
