Rheticus immediately sent a copy of the First Report to Gasser, who promptly wrote a foreword for the second edition, which was published at Basel in Hence he finally made up his mind perhaps by 9 June to let De revolutionibus be printed and began putting the final touches to his manuscript. To the First Report Rheticus appended an Encomium Borussiae , a praise of Prussia based on his travels throughout that region.
