A beautifying sanctuary where they are free to wander about with bathrobes on and make up off as they get scrubbed, polished, painted or rubbed down with hot rocks. But sometimes men needs a little pampering too, and most spas offer treatments tailored for men or to be enjoyed as a couple. More soothing than it sounds, it involves a pre-shave deep cleanse and exfoliation followed by a cut throat shave and an intense facial moisturiser.
The spa team were actually trained to do these treatments by shave guru Richard Anthony, a consultant for Downton Abbey on this old fashioned style of hair removal. Discreetly tucked away towards the back of the hotel in the Mailbox, this tranquil haven is perfect for a post-work, pre-cocktail pick me up. This independent beauty boutique had a major overhaul last year.
The improved treatment rooms are on the mezzanine level of the arcade and include a twin room for couples, in case dad wants company while he is being beautified. There are a range of male-oriented treatments, including waxing. This urban day spa has a Turkish Hammam and private treatment room with a marble table where traditionally inspired therapies are applied in a warm and steamy environment.
