Because of the various patrol functions and other duties required of officers, there may sometimes be a short waiting period. The purpose of the public safety escort is to provide a safe means of transportation for the DePaul Community around the Lincoln Park campus during evening hours. This may be done by foot or by car within campus boundaries. Escorts are available from 6 p. Escorts may be provided in a Public Safety vehicle or a larger van. Public Safety vehicles are limited to three riders at a time.
The van is limited to nine riders. Let Public Safety know the number of riders when requesting a safety escort. After placing a call for an escort, proceed to the pickup location. There will be no off campus escorts. Escorts are not to be utilized for the purpose of moving students' possessions. There may be times when a student will be informed that officers are in the process of their duties, and students may have to wait for their escort.
