They are a startup studio dedicated to establishing socio environmental impact startups. I worked with startups from the brainstorming to the launching stage, on topics such as solar energy installation training and online platforms enabling firms to provide personal growth guidance to employees. The team is really small, usually three people in the office, and tasks I had to do went from video editing, to writing content for LinkedIn and Instagram.
I also helped prepare material for entrepreneurs to use in future meetings as well. The job requires a lot of independence and being comfortable working with a really small team, but overall I had a great experience. I helped make changes to the company website and brochures that were in English, leveraging my proficiency in two languages. Additionally, I did a lot of competitor Analysis for Streammind, learning about the industry in which they work and how their competitors rank against them.
Lastly, as Streammind is continuously trying to expand, I helped reach out to different consulting firms and agencys to help Streammind find ways to grow into other markets and sectors.
Everyone at Streammind is very welcoming and helpful. It is a very hands on environment where you can talk to anyone about anything with no pressure. Additionally, everyone eats lunch together every day which is a nice touch. I thoroughly enjoyed my time and highly recommend an internship during your time abroad. As the title indicates, this lab is focused on various facets of developmental and educational psychology, with a strong emphasis on diminishing educational inequalities in France.
During my time there, I worked under a doctorate student as she created a summer program for French students of lower socio-economic status, meant to confront these inequalities. I was able to help uncover potential activities to implement in the program and teach the students various skills—whether they be academic or more socio-emotional. Additionally, I was able to spend a bit of time conducting my own little research surrounding the Pygmalion effect which has been known to unintentionally cause disparities within schooling systems across the globe.
