PROVO โ A truck driver from Salina has been arrested after he was caught in a police sting allegedly soliciting sex from a person he thought was a year-old girl.
Jamie Farrell, 40, was arrested Friday in Provo when he attempted to meet up with the fictional teen he had been communicating with online for about three months, according to a police affidavit filed in 4th District Court.
Farrell revealed in the conversations that he drove a semitrailer and wanted to meet with the girl when he returned from making a delivery in the truck. During the conversations Farrell made sexually explicit remarks and requests, including sending a suggestive photo of himself, the affidavit states.
Farrell believed he was in contact with a year-old girl from Provo when he began messaging the online persona set up by the Utah Valley Special Victim's Task Force, according to the affidavit. Farrell asked to meet the girl near her home when he returned to the area on Friday, suggesting they park his truck in a public area where it wouldn't look out of place so that they could have sex in the sleeper cab, police reported. Farell was arrested when he arrived at the meeting spot.
