I hope to bolster my skills surrounding logistics, leadership, and relationship building in this new role. Dorit grew up in rural Northern Idaho on the top of a mountain. Loving the outdoors was the only option available to stave off insanity, and she often roamed the wilderness with the family dogs pretending to be a lost elf. She graduated in from the University of Oregon with a degree in Marine Biology and a fierce determination to save the whales, turtles, and other less cute marine creatures.
This led her to an AmeriCorps position on the Olympic Peninsula caring for an aquarium and teaching hundreds of visitors about the ways of the sea. She has traveled extensively across the states working for various aquariums and developing a skillset as a tiny home builder. Dorit enjoys finding wild hot springs, taking the scenic route even if it adds hours onto the trip and having in-depth conversations with her cats who most definitely should be paid for their therapist roles.
